The Egyptian Society for the Study of Endoscopy and Hepatogastroenterology (ESEHG):

Is an organisation focused on the promotion of gastroenterology and hepatology within Egypt and the middle east .

It has been established in 2003 with over 670 members from allover Egypt.

The membership is growing steadily and includes the great majority, probably 90%, of Egyptian consultant gastroenterologists and hepatologists.

Many Specialist registrars, GPs with a special interest and other professionals with an interest in gastroenterology are also members.

The society is a member of the European Society of gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) since 2000. This strong relation helped a lot in mixing of culture and transfer of updated technology and science to Egypt and the Middle East.




We aim to:

1- Promote and advance knowledge about the causes, prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and hepatic diseases (we run two large conferences each year and a range of short courses). This help to update gastroenterologists and hepatologists with all recent trends in our specialty.

2- Help young physicians to have access to recent information and to train in proper way on different modalities in diagnosis and treatment.

3- To help patients education through supplying proper information about their disease.

4- Work in partnership with a range of regional and international organizations to achieve our objectives.

5- Be the primary source of professional advice and advocacy in our discipline to government, funding bodies and industry.
